YARN BASES

Yarn Weights
Silky Sparkle Lace (Non Superwash)
This beautiful non-superwash yarn is smooth, drapey and has a velvety soft texture. Thanks to the added Gold Stellina, it sparkles like no other. Next to stellina, this base has a silk content that makes it a strong and durable yarn, with a deep lustre.

Fit for intricate lace projects and other crafts, like needle punching and embroidery, this yarn base makes a smashing addition to any yarn stash. Personally we love to add a thread of laceweight to our projects to vamp them up.

Eventide from Undercover Otter is a 4-ply fingering weight yarn with a blend of luxury fibres 60% Merino, 20% Silk and 20% Yak.

Eventide has a vibrant and bold colour palette with shades sure to make your next project stand out. Eventide's yak base adds a deep, richness to the base which is enhanced beautifully by the sheen of the silk. We love this yarn for its soft, plush texture which makes it delightful to work with, while the plied construction makes Eventide a little more robust than other yak-silk blends we've tried.

Fiber contents: 100% Superwash Merino
Weight per skein: 100 grams / 3.5 oz
Running Length: 400 meters / 437 yards
Yarn Weight: Fingering

Mighty Merino (2.0)
Mighty Merino is a 100% merino superwash powerhouse for the softer things in life.
This yarn knits up perfectly for garments and other next-to-skin soft items.
This version replaces our previous Mighty Merino base and has the same characteristics.
It takes the dye very vividly, is soft, smooth and a delight to work with.

Fiber contents: 100% extra fine superwash merino
Weight per skein: 100 grams / 3,5 oz
Running Length: 400 meters / 437 yards
Yarn Type: Fingering
Threads: 4-ply spun

We advise against knitting socks with this yarn. While a merino yarn consisting of 4 plies can be used to knit socks, they will wear out faster than sock yarns with added nylon, silk, tencel or sturdier wool types in general like BFL.
Slasher Sock (2.0)
Slasher Sock 2.0 is durable, warm, and really easy to work with.
This blend of soft 75% superwash virgin wool and 25% nylon is versatile enough to be used for projects that call for a sturdy yarn that can take a beating. S

lasher 2.0 is softer than most commercial 75/25 blend yarns out there. However, virgin wool is coarser than purely Merino yarn. Slasher is soft enough for durable garments as well as socks, blankets, and crochet projects.

Fiber contents: 75% superwash wool, 25% nylon
Weight per skein: 100 grams / 3,5 oz
Running Length: 400 meters / 437 yards
Yarn Type: Fingering / Sock
Threads: 4-ply spun

Schlock Sock
Schlock gives a thicker impression than most fingering weight yarns and the 25% nylon makes this yarn perfect for socks.
The 75% extra fine merino makes Schlock next to skin soft and a perfect fit for garment and shawl knitting in which you want some durability.

Singularity
Singularity is a single-ply superwash 100% merino yarn with a subtle halo.
Soft and luscious to the touch and definitely made for wearing. Works beautifully in shawls and garments.

We advise AGAINST using this base for socks! Single-ply yarn is not sturdy enough to be worn on high-impact areas like feet.

Fiber contents: 100% extra fine superwash merino (Singularity) - 95% extra fine superwash merino / 5% Silver Stellina (Singularity Sparkle)
Weight per skein: 100 grams / 3,5 oz
Running Length: 366 meters / 400 yards
Yarn Type: Fingering
Threads: 1-ply spun (unplied / single ply)
Squirm Sock
Squirm is our favorite yarn base when it comes to bouncy, soft, squishy yarn.

The blend of 80% extra fine merino and 20% nylon makes it next to skin soft and sturdy enough to withstand a good amount of wear. Perfect for cozy warm garments, shawls and socks.

Especially with speckled colorways, and some variegated ones, Squirm tends to have an uneven covering of speckles when balled and going from the outside to the inside of the ball. This is a result of the yarn being spun high twist and it's impossible to reach all the way through the skein with powdered dyes because it is that thick.
This may result in the first sock you knit (of a set) having more speckles than the second one. In garments, it may give you a slight gradient effect.

If you do not want this effect, we advise you to select one of our other yarn bases.

Fiber contents: 80% extra fine superwash merino, 20% nylon
Weight per skein: 100 grams / 3,5 oz
Running Length: 400 meters / 437 yards
Yarn Type: Fingering / Sock
Threads: 4-ply spun
Treevenge
Treevenge is a yarn base we've rapidly fallen in love with. The Tencel and Merino blend is carded and spun to make a sturdy yarn with an amazingly glossy look over the entire skein.

Tencel takes dye differently and tones down bright colors slightly. It also makes for a super soft yarn that has an amazing drape when knit up and feels similar to silk.

Fiber contents: 60% extra fine superwash merino, 40% Tencel (Lyocell)
Weight per skein: 100 grams / 3,5 oz
Running Length: 400 meters / 437 yards
Yarn Type: Fingering / Sock
Threads: 4-ply spun

This yarn is sturdy enough for sock knitting and the added tencel has a moisture wicking property. It's also a super soft and drapey yarn, so I'd personally prefer to use it for shawls and garments over socks.
Falkor (Sparkle) DK (Non Superwash)
One of the softest merinos I've ever laid my hands on. This beautiful 2-ply, non-superwash yarn takes dye in a velvet vibrancy that I just can't get enough of. Working with this soft and squishy yarn is like riding your own luck dragon through the skies of Fantasia. Our Falkor base is a perfect match for pretty much every project that requires a next-to-skin soft yarn.

Thanks to the non-superwash properties, this yarn still has the ability to stick to itself. This means it works for colorwork, steeking patterns, and brioche projects like a dream.

Fiber contents: 100% Falkland Merino (Falkor) / 96% Falkland Merino, 4% Lurex Sparkle (Falkor Sparkle)
Weight per skein: 100 grams / 3.5 oz
Running Length: 240 m / 262 yds Yarn Type: DK Threads: 2-ply spun Non-Superwash yarns tend to take colors in a more toned-down fashion, which is why some colorways may seem lighter on them than on their superwash-treated cousins.
Gnarly Marly DK (Non Superwash)
This ridiculously fun 2-toned yarn base is made with 100% Highland Wool (27 μm).
It is a coarser yarn that will soften over time. One of the plies is white and the other one alternates between white and black, giving the yarn a playful and marled look, without turning into baker's twine. Gnarly Marly is a perfect match for pretty much every project that requires a sturdy yarn.

Thanks to the non-superwash properties, this yarn still has the ability to stick to itself. Which makes it perfect for colorwork, steeking patterns and brioche projects.

Running Length: 200 meters / 218 yards
Yarn Type: DK
Threads: 2-ply spun
